In 2016, Cortes created the thirteen-foot bronze sculpture of Captain America that was unveiled in celebration of the superhero’s 75^th birthday. About the guest:

           Dave Cortes, a native Brooklynite, was attending the School of Visual Arts when a fascination with stop motion animation evolved into an obsession with creating the characters. Cortes worked at McFarlane Toys as a staff sculptor before snagging deals with DC Comics, Sideshow Toys, Toy Biz, and Marvel. He became a household name in 2016 with the unveiling of his bronze Captain America in his native Brooklyn to recognize the superhero’s 75^th anniversary. Today, Cortes continues to create art in his Park Slope, Brooklyn studio.
