Recipe: Kid Friendly Piña Colada

Piña colada has been the official beverage of Puerto Rico since 1963. This recipe has a different twist with little more natural and nutritious ingredients.

The star ingredients are pineapple, banana, lime and coconut milk.

Servings: 4-8 oz.

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple

  • juice of 1 large lime

  • One whole banana

  • 1/2 cup coconut water

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk or Greek coconut yogurt

  • 2 cups ice cubes

  • cherry, pineapple wedge, toasted coconut flakes for garnish (optional)

  • cocktail umbrella picks (optional)

  1. Combine all ingredients in the blender.

  2. Blend until a smooth creamy consistency is achieved.

  3. Pour into glass and garnish

For toasted coconut flakes: use a non-stick frying pan spread half a bag or less of coconut flakes and stir until they turn medium dark brown. (no oil needed)
